Watch a custom F31-BW configuration read a small printed QR code at an approximately 15 mm working position, with decoded data displayed on the host computer.

The 28 mm result was confirmed in a separate Xinlong test; that position is not shown in this clip. These are test conditions for this custom sample.

What the demonstration shows

The module is fixed to a support above the target label. A ruler is shown beside the assembly, followed by decoded text appearing on the computer. The repeated output provides a visible record of the reader sending data to the host.

Xinlong identifies the sample as a custom F31-BW configuration and gives the printed QR code size as 10 × 10 mm. The working position in this demonstration is approximately 15 mm. These conditions describe this particular sample and setup.

How to interpret the 28 mm test result

Xinlong has also confirmed successful reading of the same QR code sample at 28 mm in a separate test. The footage on this page demonstrates the approximately 15 mm setup; it does not clearly show the separate 28 mm position.

Treat 28 mm as a reported, verified test position for this configuration. Establishing a continuous reading range requires checks at additional distances using the same measurement reference, code and installation conditions. The available results do not establish an absolute maximum reading distance.

Plan the installation around the actual code

For an OEM integration, agree where the working distance is measured. The reading window, a specified optical reference and a housing datum can give different dimensions. Mark the selected reference on the installation drawing before setting the bracket position.

A 10 × 10 mm outline alone does not define QR code reading difficulty. QR version, data content, print quality and quiet zone affect the target presented to the reader. Confirm whether the stated dimensions include the surrounding quiet zone, then evaluate the code used in the finished device.

Evaluate the custom configuration in your device

This demonstration concerns a custom configuration. Use the applicable sample specification when selecting an F31-BW for a new project, and verify the intended working positions after fitting the production window and enclosure.

For acceptance testing, compare the received data with the expected payload and record individual attempts. The repeated output in this clip demonstrates data reception; a quantified first-read success rate or decoding time requires a defined test procedure and timing record.

Video sequence and text summary

  1. 0:00–0:02: Custom F31-BW application introduction and test conditions.
  2. 0:02–0:16: Original setup footage, including the fixed module and ruler.
  3. 0:16–0:21: Repeated decoded data becomes visible on the host computer.
  4. 0:21–0:25: Information to prepare for an installation review.

All three values are annotated in the edit. Only the approximately 15 mm setup is demonstrated; the 28 mm result comes from a separate test.
