On an express sorting line, parcels cross the conveyor at two to three metres per second, leaving the scanner a few hundred milliseconds to read a label. In a warehouse, thousands of goods are received, dispatched and verified daily, and every step hangs on one scan. The G4205 industrial fixed-mount scanner is built for that work: a high-performance decode engine, high-speed motion reading, and a fixed mount that runs 7Γ24 under heavy load without losing speed or accuracy.
Logistics scanning has three characteristics: high speed, high frequency and a rough environment. Parcels do not stop on the belt, and a label may face up, sideways or downwards, so the scanner must keep up and still read correctly. The G4205's high-performance decode engine captures codes in high-speed motion accurately, with no deceleration and no manual alignment. Scanning is left to the device, and staff move from scanning every parcel to handling exceptions.
The build is industrial grade throughout, designed for harsh environments where dust, vibration and long continuous operation are ordinary. It holds speed and accuracy through heavy continuous duty, peak-season lines included. Mounting is fixed β above the conveyor or beside a sorting station β and it connects quickly to sorting systems, WMS and PLC, keeping commissioning short and retrofit cost low.
The hub sorting line is a typical G4205 station: parcels cross the belt at speed, the label flashes past, the scanner reads in milliseconds and sends the tracking number to the sorting system to match the destination chute. With a five-sided scan arrangement, codes facing up or to the side are both read, mis-sorts fall sharply, and the line holds through peak seasons such as Singles' Day and Chinese New Year.
When a supplier delivers, whole pallets and cartons are scanned in and the item data is written to the WMS in real time. Outbound, the order is checked against the carton and pallet codes to rule out wrong or missing shipments. A fixed station keeps both hands free and runs several times faster than a handheld gun, so the docks stop queueing.
Each put-wall cell corresponds to one order, and the picker scans the cell code and the item code as a second check before dropping the item in. With the G4205 fixed beside the station, a code is read as it passes the window β scan and go in a second β speeding up verification and making wrong or missed placements visible at a glance.
Postal sorting and tobacco distribution depend on high-speed reading the same way: labels and cigarette-carton codes are read in volume while automated sorting equipment runs at speed. The G4205's industrial-grade reliability and continuous-duty capability suit centres with hard requirements on stability and throughput.
