2D scan engine with an 85.8° diagonal field of view. A 640 x 480 CMOS sensor, 6500 K white illumination and 625 nm red aiming cover 1D and 2D symbologies in one pass; the 21.3 x 14.5 x 11.2 mm board weighs 5 g and drops into PDAs, handhelds, tablets, kiosks and access gates. TTL-232 / USB / USB COM, 3.3 VDC ±10%, 600 mW typical.
The XL-609-SSR is a 2D scan engine built for integration. A 640 x 480 CMOS sensor with 6500 K white illumination and a 625 nm red aimer reads printed labels, laser-etched marks and screen-based codes, while the 85.8° diagonal field of view (67.4° x 56°) suits kiosks and self-service terminals where the customer holds the paper at arm's length.
At 21.3 x 14.5 x 11.2 mm and 5 g, the board and imaging module fit behind a small window in a PDA, handheld terminal, tablet or access gate. The 12-pin FPC carries power, TTL-232, USB HID and USB COM, so one design supports serial hosts and USB hosts without a second board.
3.3 VDC ±10% at 600 mW typical (180 mA operating, 20 mA standby), 12-pin FPC with 0.5 mm pitch, two M1.6 mounting threads with a maximum thread depth of 2 mm. Trigger is active low with a weak pull-up; the beeper and decode LED are open-drain style outputs that idle low. Full pin definitions are in the brochure and the datasheet.
Does it decode on its own? Yes - decoding runs on the module and the result is sent over TTL-232, USB HID or USB COM. No host-side decoder is needed.
Can it read phone screens? Yes, 2D codes on LCD and OLED screens read with the standard configuration; 6500 K illumination and the red aimer are optimised for that case.
What is the minimum code size? 5 mil for 1D codes, 20% print contrast, with pitch and skew of ±55°.
Is a development kit available? Yes - evaluation boards, ribbon cables and sample fixtures are available on request.
